Jim Kallett Bio
Senior Faculty of Bikram’s Yoga Teacher Training since 1998 (over 45 Teacher Trainings), International Judge and Coach for the International Yoga Asana Championships, 2003-2013. One of the first teachers Bikram hand picked to lead Posture clinics around the world and the first he asked to train the next generation to do Posture Clinics. Certified during Bikram’s 5th ever teacher training program in 1997.
“Senior Bikram Yoga Instructor Jim Kallett became a Certified teacher during Bikram’s 5th ever teacher training program in 1997. Jim is one of the original and select few instructors that Bikram has hand-picked to represent him by conducting Posture Clinics, Seminars, and Lectures around the world.
Due to his dedicated service, Jim was a senior faculty member of Bikram’s Yoga College of India – International Headquarters in Los Angeles, California, and is senior faculty of Bikram’s famous Intensive Yoga Teacher Training (since 1998). With his extensive Yoga knowledge and experience, Jim has been instrumental in assisting Bikram with Teacher Re-Certifications, and served as a Judge at 9 International Yoga Asana Championship (Bishnu Ghosh Cup) Finals.”

Jim and Emma Kallett opened San Diego’s first ever Bikram Yoga studio in 1998, owning and operating one of the biggest and busiest Bikram Yoga schools in the world.
Judges Committee member, USA Yoga Federation (2010-2013). Judged International Yoga Championships from 2005-2013, including Head Judge in Finals. Judged at USA, Japan, Canadian, Thailand, Singapore, Mexico, and Irish National Championships during 2004-2013. Head Judge of numerous Regional Yoga Championships from 2002-2010. Coached: International Yoga Champions Lesli Christiansen (2003), Glenn Ottmar (unofficial 2003), Ky Ha (2007), Joseph Encinia (2011), ChauKei Ngai (2013), and International Silver Medalists: National Champions Joseph Encinia (USA 2009-11), Sarah Baughn (USA 2008), Ida Ripley (Canada 2009), Chau Kei Ngai (China 2013).
Jim studied directly with Bikram for over 26 years and was certified during Bikram’s 5th ever Teacher Training program in 1997. With his extensive Yoga knowledge, Jim has coached dozens of students in preparation for the Yoga Championships, participated in, assisted Bikram, and held numerous Seminars in the USA and abroad, served on Bikram’s faculty for Teacher Training continually since 1998, built three Affiliated Bikram Yoga schools and advised on dozens of others. Jim’s emphasis in doing Bikram Yoga workshops is to keep as close to how Bikram would do them, how he wants them done, sticking closely to how Bikram teaches the Postures, the philosophy and approach to the teaching of Bikram Yoga. Offering explanations and knowledge, bringing you to a deeper level in your Yoga experience. Jim is a teacher that you won’t want to miss!
